Diabetes is one of the most common lifestyle diseases. There are two main forms of diabetes mellitus, type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes. Of these, type 2 diabetes is more common and generally caused due to lifestyle factors.
As opposed to the popularly held belief type 2 diabetes is not simply caused due to eating more sugar but due to a complex mix of certain life style factors such as high stress, lack of physical activity, diet high in cholesterol etc.
